Stackable or hanging freezer baskets?
These two storage approaches need different fit checks.
Freestanding and stackable baskets
A freestanding basket rests on a level surface. For a stackable model, the rims, handles or feet form a specific connection to the next basket. Check those instructions and the load limits. Dividing freezer height by basket height can only estimate space; it cannot establish that the stack is stable or permitted.
Hanging baskets
A hanging basket rests on rails, ledges or a purpose-made support. Both the span and the shape of that support must match. A handle that reaches the sides does not by itself prove safe engagement. Whirlpool’s sliding-basket instructions, for example, distinguish positions for clips used on different supports.
Choose the right calculation
Freezer Grid plans freestanding basket footprints. It does not approve a hanging basket or calculate support loads. For a hanging product, use the freezer manufacturer’s compatible parts or its specific support instructions. For a freestanding product, enter the exterior size and check the opening as well as the floor.
Count baskets and packages separately
If a plan shows six basket positions and a product is sold in packs of four, two packs leave two baskets unused. Those extras might be useful elsewhere, but do not treat a pack count as a fitted layout.
